Since we both had to work on the 16th, we didn’t leave home until about 7:00 p.m. We made it as far as Ogallala and spent the night there. In the morning Ken said he was hoping we could find a bakery to get some fresh rolls. The continental breakfast at the Super 8 didn’t look all that appealing. Anyway, we searched the phone book and found the Bittersweet Bakery not too far from Front Street. We were excited when we pulled up to a small building in a neighborhood, but when we headed up the sidewalk we saw the “closed” sign. Darn. We ended up at the Safeway store to get rolls, a bagel and flavored milk.
