We helped with cattle on Friday, October 31st and November 1st.  Friday morning before we loaded up the horses and headed to Tryon Jim took us to see his new heifers. . . and of course the longhorns. <\/p>\n

We rounded up the cattle on Friday at the ranch south of Tryon.<\/p>\n

We had a lot of help this time, but we still were short 1 cow and 2 calves.  Saturday morning we sorted and did another count. Still short, so Ken and Jim took off on horseback to look for the cow and calves again.  Judy and I sat in the truck for awhile. It was pretty cold and windy so we went to the house and we talked with Sharon and Marvin.  After bit the trucks came, a little early. So Judy and I thought we’d better get outside to help with the cattle.  Just about that time Jim and Ken came riding over the horizon.  Ken’s face was so red from the cold.  But the did not find the cow or calves.  <\/p>\n

With the guys back I just try to stay out of everyone’s way.  The owners of the cattle always help too so there can be too many people in the alley way and corrals.  I do love standing in or just outside the corrals and watch the bulls fight. The power there is unbelievable.  You just have to keep an eye on them.  They aren’t aggressive, but they a focused only on each other and if you get in the way, it’s your own fault.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
