The Archway (November 17):<\/span><\/p>\n

Around the middle of November daily life was starting to get back to normal; which for us is , chores, doing some sort of exercise first thing in the morning, working on odd jobs around the house, watching Jeopardy twice a day while eating in front of the TV. Exciting isn\u2019t it!! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Anyway, Ken came up with a one-day trip that we could take since the weather was going to be nice. He suggested going to the Archway in Kearney. We had talked about stopping there in the summer but we shied away with Covid and all the summer travelers.\u00a0 November seemed liked a better time to check it out and it turned out to be a good idea.<\/p>\n

There were only one or two cars in the parking lot and just a few people inside. This allowed us to take our time going through the exhibits. We each had our own handheld \u201cself-guided\u201d tour guide so we could stop and listen to what interested each of us or we could skip the narration and just look around.\u00a0 They started with wagons on the prairie along the Oregon Trail, forts and portraying the hardships the settlers went through.<\/p>\n

As we traveled up the Archway and through time there was also an exhibit about trains and, my favorite, a small replication of a drive-in theater and diner. \u00a0It was enjoyable wandering through the Archway. They have more things to do and see outside including a sod house, a hiking\/biking trail and a bridge that takes you over the lake that is close by there. Next time we might have to bring our fishing poles.<\/p>\n
