Family Hunt at our House

The day of the big hunt was here. Everybody is getting their gear on and having a few laughs.

Kate is excited to go so she’s staying close to everyone.

Denny Russell came down too. Here he’s petting Chad’s (Barbie’s) new springer spaniel puppy Mattie . . . or is it Maddie?

Some of the guys are heading out.
Here’s the whole pack that hunted in the morning. (Uncle Mike, Uncle Dick, Dick Hinman, Chad, Jim, Dennis, Denny and Ken.)

After the first round, some of the guys sat around while the others went out to “plant” the birds. This is Dick Hinman, Uncle Dennis and Uncle Dick.
Here’s more of the crew . . . Chad, Uncle Mike and Uncle Jim.
Here they are headed out again.
Here are some pictures of Kate pointing.

At lunch time there was quite a group. I should have taken a picture when everyone was there. They spent some time going through some of the old pictures that Ken had to scan in so that he could ask Uncle Mike and Uncle Dick who some of the people were. There was a lot of laughing going on then:)
This is Maddie.
I got to ride along in the truck when Dennis and Jim planted the birds.
Jim showed me one of the Tennessee Red quail.
Then I got to walk along on the last hunt.
Lambo did a good job retrieving, which meant Chad had to carry all the birds

If you look close, Dick Hinman is “hitting the deck”. The bird flew behind the hunters and he didn’t want to get shot.

In this picture you can see Kate pointing. Everyone said she did a great job.
Uncle Mike walked along too, he didn’t carry his gun.

Here is Kate pointing again and Nate is getting ready to shoot.
The old guys cleaned the birds, while the younger ones went out again.
Nate had a problem with his gun so he didn’t go out with the others.
