Calamus Carp Tournament

The Calamus Carp Tournament is held the first Saturday in June and in August. Ken and Aaron have gone the last few years and had a great time. So this year Aaron wanted to share the fun with his girlfriend’s Dad, Dan Wetovick and Ken asked Jim to be his partner. Aaron borrowed Uncle Dennis’ boat which they could turn upside down inside Ken’s boat. The weather was better than last year when it was very chilly and rainy.

The fishing teams with the most pounds of fish get prizes.

Aaron caught one!

Dan caught one so Aaron is ready with the net.

These are some of the fish in Ken and Jim’s boat.

The archers like to fish carp so they modify their boats with these stands so they can look down into the water at a better angle.

Dan had pretty good luck. Aaron and Dan had a total of 150 pounds of carp.

Looks like Jim had a good time!

Here is Ken with one of the fish he caught.

Ken and Jim had 274 pounds of fish . . . it could have been over 300 pounds but Jamo lost a stringer full of fish.

“Where’d my stringer go??”

They all had a great time and every year there is always something that happens that gives the fisherman something to talk about for years to come. Of course, during the story telling the fish get bigger, especially the ones that got away.
